In an exclusive statement obtained by The Tennessee Star, the Mission America Foundation announced on Monday that it is beginning the effort to raise funds for Tennessee National Guard Soldiers who lost wages and jobs due to their refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“The Mission America Foundation and the Mission America PAC are proud to be joining forces to help in the effort led by Captain Mickey Shelton, Tennessee National Guard members, and their families to ensure that no TN Guard members are financially harmed or left without a job due to the mandate of the Biden administration denying their right to medical freedoms from the COVID 19 vaccine,” said Mission America Foundation Chair Aaron Spradlin.
Spradlin explained how they plan to raise money for the guardsmen and how it fits within the original mission of the organization, which is putting veterans to work in order to fight human and child trafficking.
“At our core, the Mission America Foundation was started with the goal of advocating for our veterans, current military members, and putting an end to domestic human trafficking. The Mission America Foundation is calling on those who support our Tennessee National Guard members to please help us in raising funds to ensure that their families can financially deal with the burden of being affected by the overreach of our federal government to deny their pay,” Spradlin continued.
“We are currently getting a list of these five hundred plus soldiers and proceeds raised will be sent directly to them and their families to support them through this difficult time. Donations can be made through our website at www.missionamericafoundation.com,” he added.
Previously reported, Spradlin was the master of ceremonies at an event where Tennessee National Guard soldiers and several state legislators asked Governor Bill Lee to intervene on behalf of the soldiers who were about to lose their jobs over noncompliance with a COVID-19 mandate.
Spradlin said at the beginning of the event, “We are here to urge Governor Bill Lee to stand in the gap between the overreaching federal government and the loyalty and commitment of our warriors who swore to protect and defend the very Constitution that is being infringed upon – stealing their rights and attempting to end their service to our great nation by stealing their right to choose.”
Governor Lee has yet to take action on any of the requests made by the group of guardsmen, which include asking Attorney General Slatery to file suit on behalf of the soldiers who refused the vaccine.
Lee did send a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, which was provided to left-leaning D.C. insider publication The Hill. Their reporting on the letter and his previous statements on the issue makes it appear that Lee is only concerned with guard members who requested exemptions to the vaccine mandate, not those who have outright refused because the federal government was not granting exemption requests.
The Star reached out to Lee’s office asking for a copy of the letter, but have not received it as of press time.
Despite repeated requests for comment, Governor Lee and his office continue to ignore inquiries made by The Star.
